The laws of stupidity: Society WILL be dragged down. (Serious)
It is not a secret that since central banks bailed out banks, and are throwing trillions at the rich (via the stock market and via the lowest rates in history), inequality has gone parabolic and populism too, which caused Donald Trump to become president, and more worrying, a rise in the liberty threatening totalitarian far left.
People are looking for extreme & long term solutions to a simple short term problem.
But what if... After the crash & Hitler getting elected eventually, things did not go "back to normal" because of a very long term factor?
It's hard to tell since we do not see the big picture in our lifetimes, but clearly logic, REAL science (not the science that tells us there are 750 genders and carbon is a toxic poison), reason, is all disappearing. I have read that IQs were dropping, I have read that they were going up.
What I know is smart people reproduce very little and dumb people reproduce alot, and IQ (a big factor of intelligence) has been shown to be very heriditary.
I do not know how serious the laws of stupidity are, I am going to list them:
1: Always and inevitably everyone underestimates the number of stupid individuals in circulation.
2: The probability that a certain person be stupid is independent of any other characteristic of that person.
3. A stupid person is a person who causes losses to another person or to a group of persons while himself deriving no gain and even possibly incurring losses.
4: Non-stupid people always underestimate the damaging power of stupid individuals. In particular non-stupid people constantly forget that at all times and places and under any circumstances to deal and/or associate with stupid people always turns out to be a costly mistake.
5: A stupid person is the most dangerous type of person.
There are no defenses against stupidity, argued the Italian-born professor, who died in 2000. The only way a society can avoid being crushed by the burden of its idiots is if the non-stupid work even harder to offset the losses of their stupid brethren.

I think societies do best when they have a good mix of reason + logic, and religious belief.Historically this is what has happened.
Muslims used to be the world center for science, prosperity, the most advanced region in the world, and when they abandonned reason/logic and went all in religion, their society collapsed and fell behind. There are still to this day troubled third world countries.
The greeks and romans did great, and they had strong religious beliefs but combinned with reason/logic/science.
When a species gets intelligent, the 2, as opposite as people may find them, go hand in hand.
The non religious cult following groups of ancient history never became advanced.
Socialist dictatorships (Stalin Hitler Mao) rejected even made fun of faith and went for logic only, they murdered millions because they thought it was logical to do so, and felt no guilt.
Didn't work out that well...
People need something to believe in, sets of rules, but the new religion climate change ... goes straight against reason... It is the literal opposite of reason...
If the christian muslim jew religions are too old, do we need a new one?
Can't the old religions be somehow adapted?
