It operates through the following segments: Aker Carbon Capture (ACC), Asset Development (AAD), Mainstream Renewable Power (Mainstream), Aker Horizons and Holdings, and Other. The ACC segment focuses on serving a range of industries with carbon emissions including cement, bio and waste-to-energy, gas-to-power, and blue hydrogen segments. The AAD segment is involved in developing, owning, and operating industrial-scale hydrogen projects to meet growing demand for the decarbonization of energy-intensive, hard-to-abate industries such as shipping, steel, and fertilizers. The Mainstream segment offers onshore and offshore wind and solar power generation across Europe, South America, Asia, and Africa. The Aker Horizons and Holdings segment is composed of financial statements of the company and holding companies are prepared to present Aker Horizons financial position as a parent holding company. The Other segment includes investments in SuperNode, a global technology development company that designs and delivers superconducting systems to connect renewable generation and increase grid interconnection in mature markets. The company was founded on November 1, 2020 and is headquartered in Lysaker, Norway.
