NERD passively invests in the global video games and eSports industry. The index uses a sector classification scheme developed by the Consumer Technology Association (CTA) to identify companies that derive significant revenue from business activities related to the theme, including video game publishing and development. Eligible companies must meet minimum market capitalization and liquidity requirements. Companies classified by the CTA as social casino gaming are excluded. The index expects to hold a narrow portfolio of about 25 to 50 companies, weighted using a theme-adjusted market capitalization scheme. The index is reconstituted semi-annually and rebalanced quarterly. Before September 27, 2022, the fund was named Roundhill BITKRAFT Esports & Digital Entertainment ETF and tracked the Roundhill BITKRAFT Esports Index.
