The fund seeks to provide monthly income through an actively managed portfolio of primarily Canadian rate-reset preferred shares. Securities are selected based company-level fundamental analysis, credit research and interest rate sensitivity analysis. The funds active manager also considers ESG factors if deemed applicable to the investment decision. Other Canadian securities, such as non-rate-reset preferred shares, government or corporate fixed income securities, dividendpaying stocks, Canadian-listed ETFs, as well as US preferred shares may also be included in the portfolio. Some Canadian preferred shares may be denominated in USD, ironically, the fund may also use derivatives for hedging purposes, which may include hedging USD exposure back to the Canadian dollar.
